Apr 16, 2017 · The diode is in the wire from the stator. There are two wires one to the lights one to charge. They travel in a plastic sleeve from the engine to a connector. Once you have determined which switch is the culprit, hook the other switch back up and make sure it still works. Then get some new switches and correct the problem properly. I am an advocate of proper use of safety switches.
