Nobody uses the alt fire for AOE, its for priming viral on enemys. If i alt fire now, my magazine is almost empty and i struggle to kill them with primary fire. Corinth on the other had is better raw damage with primary, it's alt fire is a bit meh, the normal is like a airburst but long reload times. But keep in mind: primary weapons are very underwhelming end game, as melee outperforms them in every single way. So dont expect to be extremely efficent with ONLY primaries used.
