Simplisafe keypad not working

I got two replacement motions sensors from SimpliSafe because the original units didn't seem to be working consistently. While adding them to the system, I noticed a device setting available on the system control panel: scroll down in the motion sensor device menu, and there's a setting that says "Instant Trigger" -- it is set to "off" by default.

So today I shipped back my 3rd Smart Lock to Simplisafe and returned my last Smart Lock to Best Buy for a full refund! I estimate I have invested over 10 man hours working with Simplisafe since Oct. 12, 2022 and I am happy to be done with the Smart Lock experiment!
