If there was solvent pop in the previous paint job, it can look like fish eyes when the paint cannot fill the hole.

I have used different clear on it with no ill effects. Each painter has his own methods for cutting and buffing. Nason ful-thane is pretty darn good for the price....deffinetly good enough for a frame and it's pretty tough stuff...
