Jan 7, 2023 · The Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) was formed in 1911. The MBA is a voluntary organization. There are about 43,000 lawyers in Massachusetts. Massachusetts is one of 40+ jurisdictions that have adopted the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE) for their state bar review. Massachusetts first administered the UBE in July 2018.
